M-Tech Bumper Install |
Finally my M-Tech bumper has arrived from Germany!
In the box
Carefully open the box
Fog Lights!
The bumper!!
Installation!
Bumper sprayed in Topaz Blue
Old Bumper on my Car
Added some height by driving on two wooden blocks
Remove fog lights and black trim by removing the 1 screw and the retaining clips
Remove license plate holder. Mine was in place with 3 screws
Remove the two Torx screws that hold the bumper. They should be completely removed
Use the factory jack to lift each wheel a bit up in order to access the two philips screws that hold the splasher with the bumper
After this, the bumper should slide out. Before it completely comes out, disconnect the two horns.
Bumper from the inside
The metal bar must be transplanted into the new bumper and is held by the dreadful plastic clips.
Horn made by bosch
I didn't take pictures of the bar transplanted because it was very difficult and I was so pissed about it and my digital camera could be hurt in explosion of anger. The bar fitted the new bumper just fine and was held in place by 3 mounting points. The metal bar was pre-drilled at the points where the bumper had the mounting points.
Once the metal bar was secured in place, the new bumper just slides in place. Me doing some fine tuning
The plastic grill was a bitch to install and I once more left my blood on the plastics until I managed to put it in place
License plate holder back in place
Checking alignment... Perfect!
Washed the car..
And some pictures of the end product
