MB Quart 2-Way Speakers (Rear)

The rear speaker installation was fairly straightforward too. For the rears I bought a pair of 6.5" MB-Quart Discus line 2-Way speakers (80W RMS each). I did not use any kind of adaptors since the speakers would drop on the existing OEM speaker mounts. I placed a rubber ring beneath the speakers to make it sit better.

First the grills are removed. Just use a flathead screwdriver to pry the grill.

I cut this mount to use it as a spacer for the new speakers:

I had to cut the lining a bit on some parts to fit the new larger speaker:

And finally in place

Securing the speakers (not shown):

1. Place rubber ring on the speaker mounts

2. Place speaker on top of the rubber ring

3. Place spacers on the 3 OEM mounting positions, so that the mounting is almost the same height as the speaker frame

4. Use screws with a washer this time to screw the speakers in place. The screw will go into the OEM hole and the washer will press the speaker in place.

5. Reinstall OEM grill
