Since Centrafuse has an OBDII interface and I have the ELM327
hardware I thought it would be nice to have real time engine data
while driving. Problem is that the OBD II port is directly in front
of the gas pedal. Inserting the OBD II cable in the port makes it
rather difficult to use the gas without kicking the cable out of the
port. So I would either have to relocate the OBDII port or make a
low profile angled extension of an OBDII cable. I chose the 2nd
solution of course as I do not want to chop my car, specially plugs
that directly connect to the ECU.
Sorry for the ugly looking plug
but I cut it with a jigsaw. I will smoothen the cuts and glue a
plastic cover. Once inserted in place, the plug protrudes around
1.5cm and the angled shape makes it even more low profile. Better
than 15cm which was before!
